If firebolt is considered the Bullet, then fireball is the cannonball of the fire-related skills. The fireball is created by spinning fire elemental at a rapid speed around an imaginary center point. Because this ball is created through spinning, creating inertial gravity, it gives off the impression that a very heavy cannonball is flying through the air.

Details

  • To use this skill, a Fire Wand must be equipped.
    • Out of the three Advanced Magic Spells, Fireball does the most amount of minimum damage, but requires a large amount of Mana to charge and has the slowest charge time.
  • Unlike Thunder or Ice Spear, you need ALL FIVE CHARGES in order to launch it. It costs 125 MP to cast all 5 charges. Giants use 150 MP to cast all 5 charges.
  • Since this is an Advanced Magic Spell, you cannot move while you have Fireball charged.
    • The spell is canceled if the user is knocked back.
    • At rank 1, only one charge is lost when knocked back.
  • The spell must be cast on a target, however the Fireball will not follow the target. The fireball will strike the position of the target at the time the Fireball was launched. This means that it is possible for the target to evade the fireball.
    • The time from launch to impact is about 3 seconds. The player is free to move and attack once Fireball has been launched.
    • If the target evades the spell, then the Fireball will just strike the ground and create an explosion. All objects able to be targeted, including hidden mimics within the radius of the explosion will take damage, although the damage will be reduced.
  • The explosion radius is slightly smaller than the range of a magic bolt (1000)
    • The diameter of the explosion range is about equal to that of a Long Bow (2000).
  • Fireball will knock down all monsters within range, even if they have Mana Deflector.
  • Like other Advanced Magic Spells, Critical chance is unaffected by the protection of the target, but damage is still affected.
  • Hidden game mechanics allow such things as the Windmill animation phase, Blaze animation phase, and the Paper Airplane action to leave the opponent unharmed.
  • Obtaining Fireball involves a quest. You need to gather the 10 missing pages of the collection book.
    • Pages can be enchanted into the collection book or dropped into the collection book.
    • Pages have an expiration time comparable to that of an enchant scroll of similar rank.

Obtaining the Skill

  • Equip "the Noob Elemental Master" title.
  • Talk to Stewart about skills. He will give you a quest and a 1x2 sized book in which to place your pages. Make sure you have enough room in your inventory. Note: this does not work if Arrow Revolver, Final Hit, Final Shot, Earning Thunder Collection Book or Ice Spear quests are still incomplete.


How to Get Quest

Talk to Stewart about Skills with the Noob Elemental Master title (while not wielding an Ice Wand or doing another skill quest)

Briefing In order to learn the Fireball, you'll need to complete the 'Book of Fireball'. Collect pages 1~10 of the 'Book of Fireball' and enchant each page in order. -Stewart-
Objectives
  • Collect all 10 pages of the Book of Fireball and give them to Stewart.
Rewards
  • Obtained Fireball
Additional Advice
  • Collect pages 1-10 and enchant them into the book. The enchant success rate is 100%.
  • Be warned that the book pages are a relatively rare drop and the pages can go for high prices, depending on which page and server. Generally speaking, page 10 is the hardest and most expensive to obtain followed by pages 9, 3 and 4.
  • Pages must be enchanted into the book by numerical order (1, 2, 3, 4, and so on).
  • The pages will expire after approximately 8 hours; you must enchant a page into the book before it expires.
  • When you have completed the book, talk to Stewart. Click on complete and you will gain the Fireball spell.
  • Note that you may quit the quest during your progress but you will keep the book.
  • Enchanting pages into the book can give proficiency with the Enchant skill if the page is used along with magic powder.
  • All the pages, except pages 4, 7, 8, and 9 can be found in a form of Fiodh.
  • All the pages, except 9 and 10 can be found in a form of Albey.
  • Completed book is untradeable, and is not a "book" in the sense that the book cannot be opened and read.
