Ant Hell (Connous Underground)
Falling into the quicksands located in the Longa Desert will bring you randomly to one of five drop points in Connous Underground (Ant Hell). The quicksand is located within a smokey cloud in any area with a sandstorm. Avoid the cloud of dust if you do not want to fall into the underground maze.
Ant Hell's opening is found via L-Rod Exploration. A smokey cloud will appear where the location of the 4 Beeps. Also a message will say "I think I will fall if I stay..." as you locate the opening. If you stay at the exact spot of the cloud for a few seconds, then you will be sucked into Ant Hell.
These openings can be found around the "Longa Desert" text on the map, as well as amongst the Desert Warrior/Hunter Ghosts. There may be a very rich ground of them between the town and the sandworm mark, right above the mark; this may be a freak occurrence though, so proof or disproof is requested.
If someone else finds the Ant Pit via Exploration and runs away, the ant pit will stay open until another person is sucked in.
There are treasure rooms here, but keys are hard to come by. The keys drop from any monster in the underground with a 0.1% chance. Several rooms are infested with bot players who don't pick up keys; rarely-visited botter rooms may have several keys lying around. These are much more common in the Solea caves, though.
Getting out of Ant Hell
The exit can be difficult to find, but the way to the underground lake is fairly straight-forward if you zoom your map all the way out and use it to help you chose the path that moves towards the center.
Look at the minimap and try to always move towards the centre, that's where the lake and your exit are. If it seems you're stuck, look for large rocks with cracks over their surface that you can hit. They will crumble and create a passage. Also, look out for dark reddish rocks that come up to your chest in the wall. You can step through some [all? Needs confirmation.] of them. The floor will turn orange when you get close to the lake. After that, the floor will turn blue, and you should be able to see the lake from there.
If you get stuck, there are alternative ways of escaping. They include:
- Using the "Continent Warp" feature.
- Using Goddess Wings and/or Waxen Wings, which sometimes drop from the monsters.
- Letting the monsters kill you. However, be warned that you will lose exp and possibly one or more of your equipments (if they are not blessed).

Recommended to not kill off the few initial Monsters while planning to L-Rod as this will cause more monsters to spawn.
The list below gives the items that can be gathered from the collection sites (ore deposits and herb patches) uncovered by L-Rod Exploration.
Unlike Solea Underground, collectibles in Connous Underground can be found along corridors as well as in the rooms.

- Always goes from a cave region behind the Glowing Doors to a cave region outside of them.
